Becoming A lash tech is all well and good, however, this is a business you're investing in which means you MUST know your numbers and set regular goals. The first thing you must know is how to work out how many clients you need per week to hit your finance goals.
If you're a beginner lash tech looking to leave your full time job this formula is perfect to give you something to aim for before taking the leap!
Given the service prices:
- Classic Set: £50
- Hybrid Set: £60
- Russian Set: £70
Let’s calculate the average price of your services:
Step 1: Calculate the Average Service Price
If you offer a mix of these services, you can find the average price as follows:
(£50 + £60 + £70) ÷ 3 = £60 Average Service Price
Step 2: Determine Your Monthly Income Goal
Let’s set your monthly goal at £3,000.
Step 3: Calculate the Number of Clients Required
To find out how many clients you need per month, divide your monthly goal by the average service price:
£3,000 (Monthly Goal) ÷ £60 (Average Service Price) = 50 Clients/Month
Step 4: Calculate the Weekly Client Load
If you want to figure out your weekly client load, divide the monthly total by 4 (assuming you work 4 weeks per month):
50 Clients ÷ 4 Weeks = 12.5 ≈ 13 Clients/Week
Step 5: Factor in Fill Appointments
Let’s say 50% of your appointments are fills, priced as follows:
- **Classic Fill**: £30
- **Hybrid Fill**: £35
- **Russian Fill**: £40
The average fill price can be calculated as:
(£30 + £35 + £40) ÷ 3 = £35 Average Fill Price
Now, calculate a new average considering 50% full sets and 50% fills:
(£60 Average Full Set Price + £35 Average Fill Price) ÷ 2 = £47.50 Combined Average Price
Step 6: Recalculate the Monthly Client Load with Fill Prices
Now, divide your monthly goal by the new combined average price:
£3,000 ÷ £47.50 = 63 Clients/Month
Step 7: Determine the Weekly Client Load with Fill Prices
To get your weekly client load:
63 Clients ÷ 4 Weeks = 15-16 Clients/Week
Final Breakdown:
- To reach £3,000 per month, you’ll need approximately 63 clients per month or around 15-16 clients per week, considering a mix of full sets and fills. This translates to about 3-4 clients per day if you work 5 days a week.
